On Tuesday 12th April the P6 class went to Bryson Recycling Centre as part of their World Around Us topic “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle”. Pupils were guided around the centre by Derek, Liz and Connor and learned a great deal about how the things that we put into our recycling box get collected, sorted and recycled. Pupils also saw the ‘Hopper’ that compacts and bales the plastic and metal into bales and biscuits.
Pupils were given the opportunity to watch the recycling lorry deposit the materials that had been collected that morning into the different recycling zones within the centre.
Many thanks to Liz, Derek and Connor for a wonderful visit, an enjoyable time was had by all!
