P6 use Izak 9

During numeracy this week P6 pupils had the opportunity to use our new numeracy resource Izak 9, which has been purchased by the Parent Support Group.

Izak 9 involves pupils working in groups with a set of 27 specially designed cubes. The cubes use numbers, colours and shapes to improve pupils mental maths skills. Pupils use the "Plan, Do, Review, Make Sense" technique to come up with their answers. The tasks allow the pupils to work together, discuss and share ideas about how to solve the wall.

Today P6 had to find the multiple of 3 on the cubes and build a wall which displayed these in order. They then had to work together to answer questions based on the numbers they found.
