As part of their World Around Topic this term, P6 have explored the different Christmas traditions that happen around the world. Pupils studied the concept of scale and distance using a map of the local area. They investigated how far Santa would be travelling between some of the areas that they located using four digit co-ordinates and a scale line. Pupils also looked at and discussed vintage Christmas cards, seeing how the idea of Christmas has changed over the years. Lastly, the pupils created a STEM Christmas cards which had to have at least one moving part. Great fun was had by all the children in P6!
