P3 have been busy learning all about winter weather

20th Jan 2026

Since returning to school, the children explored temperature, wind and rainfall, carefully recording their observations each day. They also discovered how different animals survive during the winter months and discussed the importance of wrapping up warm in cold weather.

The class learned about the winter solstice and observed the position of the sun in the sky by measuring the length of their shadows at different times throughout the day.

We talked about some of the dangers that winter weather can bring, but we also enjoyed the fun side of the season, especially playing in the snow!
