Let's catch up...………………..

28th Mar 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As we reach the end of the first week of our new routines I just wanted to check in with everybody.  No doubt this has been a very challenging and stressful week for all of us as we get used to restrictions on our lifestyle. I'm sure having all ages of children, and adults,  at home has not always been easy or conducive to learning!  I know in our house there is a constant path to the fridge for "snacks".

At times like this I appreciate that learning will be difficult.  While our teachers have  sent home learning packs, these are not intended to add to the pressures at home.  Instead these activities should involve revision and consolidation to your children and provide some sort of routine for part of the day.  If you can all encourage some physical exercise, a little numeracy, a little literacy and some reading you will be doing a great job!

Beginning this Monday RTE television, in conjunction with the Department of Education, will broadcast an hour of bilingual school support from 11 to 12 noon which you might want to check out.

Your most important role at the moment is as parents.  All of our children are worried and anxious and we should try to distract them by doing activities like planting, baking, tidying up, painting etc  When schools reopen I can assure that all of our teachers will work very hard to help your children "catch up".

In the meantime I hope our children continue their daily prayers and I wish you and your families good health.

If you need any support or guidance or to get in contact with teachers email me on stjarlathsprincipal@gmail.com

We are all available  to help in any way we can in these most difficult of situations.

God Bless, stay at home, save lives, support the NHS.
