A tribute to our P7 teacher and colleague.

2nd Mar 2021

Having  just sat down to read this tribute to our P7 teacher, colleague and friend my heart goes out to Mr Loughran and the tough decision he has made in recent days re his Gaelic football career.

What makes Harry all the more special is that there wasn’t one day in recent years,  when he was struggling with his condition and pain, that the children in his classes  or his school colleagues were aware of it. Mr Loughran maintained his enthusiasm for his teaching career and his desire to always do his best for the children in his care, despite his private struggles.

While we know that Harry’s decision to walk away from Gaelic football was a massive one for him, we in St Jarlath’s PS are so proud of him and feel  privileged to work with him each day.

We look forward to the exciting times which lie ahead for him and hope he can look back on his Gaelic career with pride.

Mr Loughran, you are awesome!
