Families First Awards Night

28th Apr 2024

Staff of St Jarlath's PS wish to thank most sincerely the family who nominated our school for an award at the Families First Primary School Awards in Titanic Belfast.  Our school received a Highly Commended Primary School of the Year  Award.

Staff were delighted to read the amazing comments which parents and past pupils submitted.  These comments will be on display during our school's 50th anniversary celebrations in the 2024/2025 school year.

Here are just a few of the many lovely comments received......................  thank you.

Both of my children attend St Jarlath’s. It is such a friendly and happy school who make my children feel safe & loved as well as teaching them the essential skills that will set them up for life. Every teacher, classroom assistant and support worker knows my children by name and gets their personalities and encourages them to thrive. We are so lucky and grateful to have such a wonderful primary school in our community and they deserve to win primary school of the year!

My children went through their primary education in St Jarlaths and I can honestly say they were treated with dignity, respect and with maturity helping to form the people they are today. St Jarlaths provides excellent education to all children, no matter their background, they are an exemplary example of a community school.

This school has always been at the centre of the community. Since it opened in 1974 it has always put the children first. The teachers have always put the children’s welfare and education first, getting the best from every child. For those children with learning challenges, they are supported to achieve in a personal, educational and emotional way and their achievements are celebrated along with all children in the school. Equality is important and the staff foster this each day. The school is open fifty years this year and it has gone from strength. It has the teachers’s, parents and community’s support.
